Opportunity for Students – The Emerging Leadership Project

The Emerging Leadership Project is a year-long, cohort-based leadership and service-learning experience. Students will spend the first two terms developing their leadership skills and learning about strategies for effective community engagement. In the third and final term students will put their skills and knowledge into practice when they design and implement their own community service projects. Participants will also have the opportunity to acquire funding (up to $1000) to complete their projects. 

Participation in the Emerging Leadership Project provides students with a deeper understanding of their leadership assets and demonstrates how they can use them to create positive change in their communities. In this highly engaging program, students will develop practical skills which are readily transferable to their academic, professional, and personal pursuits.  

The project cohort will run throughout the 2022-2023 academic year. The program is open to ALL students, regardless of previous leadership experience. More information and applications can be found at holden.uoregon.edu/elp. Applications are due by May 1st.
