Do good for the environment by helping a fellow student design an exhibit for the Oregon Coast Aquarium!
Greetings School of Art and Design students!
My name is Britta Baechler and I am a 3rd year PhD student at Portland State University studying microplastics in Oregon shellfish. I am putting together a temporary (1-year) exhibit about ocean plastics and microplastics for the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, Oregon and need some creative assistance! I am really excited about the opportunity to teach the broader community people about the pollution occurring in our oceans through both interactive and interpretive displays at the aquarium, but creating interactive visual displays is where I could really use some help!
I could especially use some volunteer assistance with:
1) Assembly of some structures (tables, stands, etc….) that would be used for the exhibit’s signage/ interactive displays/ props,
2) Putting together some ocean plastics-related art that help visualize the plastic pollution problem,
3) Standing banner graphic design and layouts (including images, basic data, etc)
4) Ideas for fun and interactive displays about big or small plastics.
This would be a great chance to have your name included on a museum exhibit, and to help get the word out about this important environmental issue!
