K14 Campus Flats Art Gallery Opportunity

Hi Art + Design School Students,
My name is Julia Povich, and I manage K14 Campus Flats, a 145-bedspace student housing property located right across the street from the University of Oregon Library. Our address is 1414 Kincaid St. I started here a little over a year ago and was recently informed that years ago we worked with students from the College of Design school to display their artwork in our lobby.
We currently have a large white wall that is walked past daily by residents and is a stop on all of our prospect housing tours. It could use some love! I’m interested in transitioning that wall into a revolving student artwork display.
If you’re at all interested in having your artwork displayed in our lobby, please feel free to reach out to k14manager@affinityproperty.com or call 541-246-1229. If you’d like to stop by to see the space we’d love to have you!
Happy to answer any questions or provide more information on our space. Look forward to working with you!
Best,

Julia Povich

seeking jurors for Country Fair 2025

Greetings Potential Craft Jurors!

Once again we’re planning the Oregon Country Fair craft jurying, and we hope someone there might like to join us!

This will be our second year of doing the jurying digitally and asking jurors to do the evaluations at home (as the world goes, so go we).  We won’t have the whole day all together, as we used to do (6 hours of looking at images!).

We look for jurors who know arts and crafts, and have a good critical eye.  We also hope jurors will have some sense of what the Country Fair is all about, and help us to invite high-quality work that fits our venue.  We also maintain a certain integrity in the process by having jurors who are not directly associated with the Fair.

Craft applicants send three images of their craft.  Our process involves 6 jurors rating each set of 3 images on a 1-to-10 scale.  After jurying, we tally scores and re-connect scores with names (and then begins the hard part for us—seeing how far down the line we can go in acceptances, which depends on available space each year).  An applicant might apply with multiple crafts, but each category will have its own three images, and jurors rate each set separately; you don’t evaluate the crafter, but each craft.

We’re planning a gathering of all six jurors on the morning of March 29 at the OCF office on Lawrence St. for an introduction to the process; this could be two hours at most, I think. Then jurors can log into the program that has all the applications and do the evaluations on their own, over the next 8 days—on their computers.  Once we receive scores from all the jurors, we can take it from there.

If anyone there would like to be one of our jurors this year, please let me know by email response (harrisonj@lanecc.edu ) or by phone at 687-1023 (h).   We totally appreciate the contributions jurors make, and we offer two day passes and a commemorative t-shirt to show our thanks.

So long—

Jeff Harrison

Looking for mural artist

One of our residential treatment programs for youth here in Eugene is opening a 2nd location and we are currently in the process of making renovations to the building and our staff members were hoping we might be able to find some local artists to come and paint some fun, bright murals on our walls.  I think it’s a unique opportunity for some up and coming artists to make their mark here locally and also provide our most vulnerable youth suffering and recovering from trauma, suicidal ideation, self-harm, anxiety, abuse and more

Please call or email and let me know if this might be a possible collaboration.

Check out this page of our website to learn more about our Regional Crisis Center program (this page outlines our current location in west Eugene, the new 2nd location is located just across from Autzen stadium off of MLK blvd): https://www.lookingglass.us/regional-crisis-center

Pioneering summer creative residencies within an inspiring mediterranean natural scenery in rural Greece – July/August 2025

Residency Periplus Workshops 2025 introduction

The 2025 residencies’ program, Periplus* Workshops, offers the unique opportunity for emerging creatives to respond to nature in two small villages of rural Greece. In Arcadia,  the mythical land of pastoral utopia, in central Peloponnese or at the agricultural side of the historical Chania Region, in Crete. In a carefully structured period of intensive days, a determined group of participants use limited resources to create individual and collaborative responses, culminating in a local exhibition which is open to the wider local community and encourages an outward-facing conversation about the value of experimental creativity in context.

As well as learning from and working alongside local people, participants in Periplus Workshops foster sustainable development through skillsharing, introducing new approaches to problem solving and storytelling. At the same time, learning about the traditional forms of handicrafts and local material culture, they are looking for new ways of better preserving and innovatively including them. They take active part into giving the selected territories visibility as a living laboratory, open to new thinking capable of playing a key role in changing the social fabric and bring about new ways of doing and being.

Spaces are limited and following the amazing response created in the previous years, there are expectations for high quality responses.

Woolly Made looking for Interns and graduated students

This is Jake with Woolly Made.  Our leather goods business has had interns with the PD program for the last few years and they’ve been great.   We would be happy to take on another if there are any students still in need for this school year. If you are interested, please contact me directly: jake@woollymade.com

Separately, we are also in need of some part time to full time (depending on availability) employees. The job would entail things like: laser cutting, sewing, finishing leather goods all while hanging in the relaxed shop environment with the two founders (2012 PD grads) and our small team of makers.

adidas is look for design students for our Summer 2025 Internships!

I’m excited to share that our Summer 2025 internship roles are now live, featuring two positions:

Product Design, US Sports

Color Materials + Graphic Design, Footwear

Note: We do require portfolios or work samples. While we don’t need a large quantity of projects, I believe quality is key here. The hiring managers will be eager to see your best work.

Both roles will primarily focus on Footwear design, but we encourage students with diverse interests or skillsets to apply. We prioritize passion and potential over experience.

Our application window opened on October 1st and will close on October 15th at 11:59 PM PST. I highly recommend that your students aim to apply at least three days in advance, if possible, as we often see a surge of applications just before the deadline.

In terms of internship start dates, they will either have a May or June start date and complete their 12-week internship in August or September. It will just depend on your academic calendar.

graphic arts designer wanted

Seeking graphic arts designer interested in rebranding a small but growing company (design & direction in marketing), perhaps as a project.  This would be a comprehensive re-branding.  The goal is to brand all the materials of the company to be synonymous in their ‘look’ including a book, education workbook, marketing and promotions (website, and SM direction a plus).  Limited budget but willing to discuss the cost of the process/plan as a complete project or in phases each with separate costs.  Please contact Cecilia at pilates4parkinsons@yahoo.com to discuss further details of the project.
