Student Graphic Designer position in EMU

Graphic Designer: Position open until filled. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants must be enrolled in a UO or LCC degree program and currently registered for 8 or more credit hours. This position pays between $10-$12/hr depending on experience.

This is a part-time, up to 25 hours per week appointment.

Erb Memorial Union Marketing is looking for a graphic designer to join our office. EMU Marketing is tasked with creating marketing and advertising materials, ranging from concert posters to websites, for the EMU and the Division of Student Life. The ideal candidate is able to work well with a team in an open office environment while also working independently on projects. Candidate must be comfortable with constructive criticism and critique. Most importantly, EMU Marketing is a creative space and we are looking for someone who wants to grow and learn as well as learn new and emerging technologies.

REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrated creativity presented through design portfolio.
• Solid understanding of Adobe Creative Suite.
• Understanding of typography.
• Ability to draw/ illustrate ideas.
• Ability to work on several projects simultaneously.

 

This position has three primary areas of responsibility:

• Design marketing materials (posters, banners, fliers, and the potential for web design) for clients of EMU Marketing.
• Concept and present designs to office and clients and gather feedback.
• Meet with clients and adjust designs accordingly.

BONUS EXPERIENCE:

• Understanding different color formats.
• Preparation of final artwork for printing.
• Understanding of HTML and CSS terminology.
