More than Monarchs:
Migration in Dragonflies and other Insects
Celeste Searles Mazzacano
CASM Environmental, LLC, Portland, Oregon
Dragonfly migration is one of the most fascinating yet least known events in the insect world. The dragonfly with the common name “wandering glider” (Pantala flavescens) crosses the Indian Ocean on a migratory journey over twice the distance covered by Monarchs in North America. How do we know that, you ask? Come listen to Celeste Searles Mazzacano talk about insect migrations and find out.
