looking for an advanced photography intern

My name is Bill Leissner.

I live in Portland, OR and I am looking for an advanced photography intern.

I studied photography in the 80’s in the University of Texas (Austin) art department with Mark Goodman, who succeeded Russell Lee and Garry Winogrand as the tenured social documentary photographer. Mark is a Guggenheim fellow and has work at MOMA, and has published several books. I shot 3500 rolls of film in Austin in the 80’s which has recently received much interest. I am working on a book project which is expected to go to press next Fall. There has been interest in acquisition expressed by several reputable archives, and it appears that I have a growing group of loyal followers. I started a FaceBook group to share my work a year ago, and it now has 3500 members. Many of the people in my photos were beloved icons of the time, and it appears that there is much nostalgia for that time, and that place, and those people.

I now live in low-income senior and disabled housing, with limited means, but I have managed to build a professional scanning and printing workspace, and cashflow adequate to cover basic operational and material expenses. I need help with organization and cataloging an archive that has been determined to have significant historical and educational value, and building an online repository for the purpose of collaboration with several university associated archives and publishers who have expressed interest in acquisition.

I am looking for an intern interested in this sort of work, and I’m confident that I can provide an academic credit worthy educational experience in exchange. I have a considerable amount of teaching experience.

Thank you for your consideration.
