CALL FOR ENTRY

For its inaugural juried exhibition, the Cato Institute welcomes artists working in any medium to address the concept of FREEDOM: ART AS THE MESSENGER. We are living in an era in which people are finding their combative voice but having little conversation or dialogue. The goal of this exhibition is to provide an outlet for that conversation, to address freedom in all its manifestations through art.

Eligibility: National

Jurors:

  • Harriet Lesser, curator, Strathmore; former director of exhibitions, VisArts, Rockville; former director of exhibitions, Charles Sumner School Museum and Archives, Washington, DC; exhibition artist in the United States and overseas
  • June Linowitz, owner, ArtSeen; board member, Arts Council of Montgomery County (Maryland); president, Arts on the Block; committee member, The Resilience Fund; honoree, “Images and Expressions: Maryland Women in the Arts”

Awards: Cash prizes awarded and honorable mentions recognized

April 11, 2019 – June 14, 2019
