We are entering into a time in society where there is great change in the way to conceptualize “the body”. Bodies are fluid, forever altering throughout our lives. The old definitions of the body are no longer relevant. There are seemingly endless expectations society puts on our bodies – the way they function, the way they look – it is easy to feel like we aren’t enough. But, bodies are more than that. Bodies can change and become entirely new to us. This change can be good, affirming, or also scary, and unplanned but at the end of the day it is inevitable. We want this exhibit to show the viewer that change is natural and doesn’t have to be negative, that a body doesn’t have to change in certain ways to be good, that we can choose to change our bodies for ourselves.
Participants will get to show off their work, be entered into a raffle to win prizes, and much more!
