OSPIRG Students gives students experience

Remote and in-person leadership and volunteer opportunities are available this winter!

OSPIRG Students gives students experience in political organizing and civic engagement. We provide students with opportunities to build leadership skills in grassroots organizing while working in the community on a variety of service and education projects.

Our focus this winter is our renewable energy campaign, working to commit Oregon to 100% renewable energy. This summer students won a statewide commitment to 100% clean electricity, the strongest such commitment in the country! Now it’s time for Oregon to commit to an equitable transition to 100% renewable energy statewide.

We are also working to alleviate food and housing insecurity in Eugene, make textbooks more affordable, and support Indigenous water rights in the Klamath Basin.

Interested in making an impact in your community and learning important leadership skills along the way?

Volunteers will:

  • Gain firsthand experience into the campaigning process

  • Sharpen your communication skills by working with the media

  • Learn to develop and run an effective campaign

  • Gain experience recruiting and working with volunteers

  • Learn to build a coalition and work with coalition partners

We are working hard on college campuses across the state to commit Oregon to 100% clean energy, alleviate food and housing insecurity, and make textbooks more affordable. Want to join the effort? Fill out the interest form today!
