Call for Artists: New year, new art commission

With the updated format, CMA seeks one Oregon-based artist to create 3 original pieces for promoting its 2023-2024 season and to also submit digital images of 2 additional pieces from the artist’s portfolio to create a set, the focus of which is the artist’s prerogative. This commission allows Amici to have a total of 5 images to use during its 5-concert season.

The commission is for $2,000, and includes:

  • A 3-month showcase, with the 3 original pieces + full-size digital images of the 2 additional pieces (if the original artwork is unavailable) and up to 5 additional pieces of the artist’s already created works.
  • The artist retaining rights to the newly created works at the end of the 3-month showcase. CMA only uses the digital images of those original works for its promotional purposes.
  • An opening reception hosted by CMA and Emerald Art Center (EAC, Springfield, Oregon), with publicity, food, and music organized by CMA.

The deadline for submitting applications is midnight, Monday, October 24, 2022. We are trying to make sure we do outreach for as many artists as possible, and in different media, because there is no one type of art CMA is looking for in this commission.

The application is based only on a short proposal and some artist information about you. For complete details, including application guidelines and commission requirements, as well as a gallery of images for past winners, please click here: https://bit.ly/amiciartcommission23-24.
