Join us for a guided tour of this demonstration garden that showcases strategies to reduce water use while creating a beautiful landscape. The Water Wise Garden features a water-saving landscape design, native, edible and low water use plants, an efficient sprinkler system, a rain garden and bioswale and a 3,000-gallon rainwater cistern.

To minimize water demand and enhance plant health, plants are sited based on their water need, and alternatives to traditional lawn grass are planted at the garden, including  a low water-use turf variety, and an area planted with a blend of ecoturf – a mix of typical turf-type lawn grasses and low water use plants.

The Water Wise Garden also features a watering system is controlled by a Smart Controller which adjusts watering levels based on plant needs, and has underground drip tubing to water the lawn and other areas.

Water Wise Garden was made possible by collaboration from EWEB, City of Eugene, Nearby Nature, Landcurrent Landscape Architecture, and Schirmer Satre Group

Our group size is limited, so please RSVP.

Please walk, bike or take the bus
