Position Title: Production Assistant/Editor

Number of Positions: 2

Position Description

The SPICE program will be producing 6 short educational science videos that will be posted on our YouTube channel 360degreeScience. Three videos will directly feature girls ages 11-14 engaged in hands on science activities. The other 3 videos will cover behind the scenes elements for delivering informal science workshops with children.

Assist in the production of short (3-5 minute) educational videos to be posted on YouTube. Production assistants will help with all aspects from development to post production editing. Including but not limited to: script managing, assembling supplies for video shoots, lighting, sound, sets, working with child actors, editing raw footage into final videos, and light directing.

Positions can be all purpose or specialized. That is, we can take 2 people who will share all aspects of production assistance and editing, or 1 production assistant and 1 editor.

Qualifications

Production Assistant:

Past experience managing scripts during video shoots, familiarity with basic lighting and sound. Experience shooting video (primarily indoors on informal sets) and working with actors.

Editor:

Proficiency with Final Cut Pro

Preferred Qualifications:

Past work on short educational videos

Past work with children

Science background or interest
